We bought our first vertical stone router from YIHAICNC back in 2019 for our workshop in Hue. At that time we were doing mostly small Buddhist statues in sandstone and marble. That first machine is still running today—six years of daily use, and the only major replacement has been the spindle bearings last year. In 2023 we added a second machine, and just last month we ordered a third one. The vertical design is the reason we keep coming back. When you’re carving a statue face, you need to see what the tool is doing from the front. On a flatbed machine you’re leaning over the gantry trying to get a look. With this machine the workpiece stands upright and the spindle comes in from the side—it feels much more like traditional carving, just with a computer guiding the tool. The rotary base turns 360 degrees, so we can carve a full figure without re-clamping. The 7.5kW dual spindles have been reliable even on harder marble. Hue’s humidity hasn’t caused any electrical issues so far. If you’re doing figurative work, this is the machine to get.
